Project description:

A consortium of GRIFFIN GROUP ENERGY and PILE ELBUD SA will build a 15MWh battery power storage system in Bremen, Germany.

The battery energy storage system consisting of six containers will be part of a hybrid storage facility in Bremen, Germany, together with thermal energy storage technology. Such a connection is to increase cost efficiency and the installation is to earn money on grid services. Its launch is scheduled for the end of Q3 2018.

Griffin Group Energy consistently pursues its development strategy by strengthening its competence in the energy sector. The energy storage facilities we offer on the Polish market are made in the end to end system: design, manufacture and maintain using the technology of our strategic partners, which are the world's largest manufacturers of batteries and energy storage facilities. The invitation of Griffin Group Energy to implement one of the largest energy storage projects in Europe confirms the high quality of our services and the competitiveness of Polish companies on the foreign market – says Dariusz Wawrzynów, Vice-President of the Company. The aim of our company is to implement the most modern technologies on the domestic market, which will actively support the development of the Polish energy sector – says Dariusz Wawrzynów.

The order for the assembly of the components of the battery energy storage system with a capacity of 15 MWh is the first task of this type in the history of PILE ELBUD SA, says Remigiusz Nowakowski, President of the Company. This is one of the first effects of the strategic activities launched at PILE ELBUD, aimed at developing new products and services for the energy market in Poland and abroad. The project in Bremen is very important to us – says President Nowakowski –because it will allow us to effectively develop our competence in the installation and connection of energy storage systems to the grid. We believe that the battery energy storage market has great potential and will develop, at an increasingly rapid pace, in proportion to the dynamics of falling battery prices and the development of distributed energy sources.
